CONSTRUCTION INC. SELECTED TO BUILD RIVER REC PARK

Boise-based McAlvain Construction Inc. has been selected by the Friends of Parks to be the general contractor for the Ray Neef MD River Recreation Park. The Friends of Parks is a volunteer organization formed to raise funds for the $4.4 million project.For more than a quarter of a century, McAlvain Group of Companies has been providing design-build, construction management, self-performed concrete work, excavation and general contracting services throughout Idaho and the Pacific Northwest.

McAlvain staff members will work closely with the McLaughlin Whitewater Design Group (MWDG), CH2M Hill and Quadrant Consulting, the team contracted to design the River Recreation Park, which is located on the Boise River between Main Street and Veterans Memorial Park.

bad otterThe Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is holding a public meeting on July 17, 2008 to discuss the proposed non-motorized boat registration in Idaho.

 This proposal is against your best interests as a boater, Idahoan and American! It is  an attempt to tax kayakers to pay for the antics of motorized boaters in the form of boat ramps on resevoirs we don't use, sherrif's patrols we don't want and search and rescue efforts that don't exist.  

Please attend this meeting to protect your rights and to prevent yourself from being unfairly taxed. Be ready to discuss why you are opposed to this tax and how you pay to use the federal facilities, user fees, and river permits.
