Groundbreaking ceremonies were held today, November 18, 2009 for Kelly's Whitewater Park in Cascade Idaho. The event was held on the site in Cascade, Idaho. Local dignataries, including Cascade Mayor, R.W. Carter, doners Mark and Kristina Pickard particpated in the ceremony.
The construction timeline is set to have the park to be up and running by May, 2010. The park will include a greenbelt, a visitor's center and seven river features -- or surf waves.
Mark and Kristina Pickard have contributed over six million dollars to the project. Hans Borbonus, donated the land. Scott Shipley will be designing the water features.
